Tauranga is a coastal metropolitan city in the Bay of Plenty region and the fifth most populous city of New Zealand, with an urban population of 135,000 (June 2019).[1] It was settled by Māori late in the 13th century, by Europeans in the early 19th century, and was constituted as a city in 1963.[4]
The city lies in the north-western corner of the Bay of Plenty, on the south-eastern edge of Tauranga Harbour. Falken is a young Japanese tyre brand in the global market. With the help of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the brand has managed to penetrate the 4×4 and racing segments. Its impressive popularity in the United States is due to the Wildpeak AT3W model that has conquered the hearts of all off road lovers. Additionally it carries a model of tyres designed for high speed called Azenis. In New Zealand Falken is operated by major tyre chains in most regions of the country.
Falken tyres is a well-known brand of tyres for cars and light trucks. It belongs to the Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo Rubber Industries and its origins date back to 1983.
Its primary marketing strategy has been to promote itself in drifting car races, aggressive UHP (ultra-high-performance product) tyre designs and remarkable technological innovation. By 1985 he began exporting tyres to the United States of America, and in 1991 he established his first distribution centre in California, then in New Jersey, Texas and Tennessee.
The company’s most famous models are the Sincera, Ziex, Azenis and the Wildpeak. In recent years, the company has sponsored several sports such as German Basketball League, Liverpool F.C., Qantas Wallabies Major and Major League Baseball.
